Terra d'Oro Chenin Blanc & Viognier 2022

The Terra d’Oro 2022 Chenin Blanc and Viognier blend is lively, refreshing and well balanced. Inviting aromas of crushed gravel, honeysuckle and mandarin orange are complemented by flavors of key lime and citrus. A firm backbone and focused palate leads to a finish of wet stone and apricot puree. This wine is a beautiful complement to oysters on the half shell, pork, chicken and southeast Asian fare..

The grapes for this wine come primarily from our Clarksburg vineyards, with a small amount coming from select Amador vineyards. The Clarksburg AVA, located 30 miles west of Amador, is perfectly suited for growing aromatic white grape varieties. It enjoys cooler temperatures than surrounding regions thanks to the cool breezes that flow in from San Francisco Bay. This allows the grapes to ripen slowly and develop depth in both flavors and aromas.

To retain the vibrant fruit and acidity, the grapes were harvested at night and fermented and aged in stainless steel. The wine remained on the lees for three months after fermentation to add complexity.
