Dry Creek Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 1990
USA, Dry Creek Valley
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc
Price category: $$$$$
Description
Overall, 1990 was and exceptionally good vintage in Sonoma, with a warm and dry summer. This vintage marks the year that Don Wallace joined his wife Kim in managing the family winery and fully integrating the vision of the second generation.
This wine presents alluring aromatics of dried cherry, cocoa powder and strawberry preserves with notes of bay leaf, oregano and wet stone. On the Palate, layers of plum sauce, smoked paprika and dried cranberry come forward with nuances of leather and cumin. The wine is complex, with soft tannins complimented by the a finish of minerality.
